Here are some specific ways you can get involved with YoungLives Huntington Beach:

Mentor
Walk with a teen mom or dad for one school year.  This often looks like doing things together such as going to the park, sharing your story with them or helping them register for college classes. Your mentor relationship depends on you and your mentee’s needs and can often look different from person to person.

Commitment: Meet twice monthly with your mentee, attend Club (3rd Thursday of each month), and mentor meetings (2nd Thursday of each month). Complete and pass a background check, driver questionnaire and faith and conduct agreement.

Childcare
Love holding babies or playing with toddlers? This is the perfect place for you to serve. We offer childcare at our once a month clubs and at special occasions (like prom).

Commitment: Once a month, be on a team of women who help watch babies and toddlers while their moms and dads enjoy a craft, music, and speaker. Club happens the 3rd Thursday of each month in Huntington Beach. Once a year, help with YoungLives Prom childcare. Complete and pass a background check and sign a faith and conduct agreement.

Special Events
Help plan and host several special events throughout the year such as the Christmas Boutique, Prom, Pancakes in the Park and more!

Commitment: Work together with a team to decide who will participate in which event(s) throughout the year. Team is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing fun and engaging special events for teen moms and dads.

Club
Help plan and coordinate monthly club gatherings. Roles include Club Coordinator, Childcare Coordinator, helping with music, skits and games, overseeing check-in, demonstrating a craft, planning and coordinating decorations and more!

Commitment: Monthly club gatherings for one school year (September – June); time commitment each month varies based on role. Club happens the 3rd Thursday of each month in Huntington Beach.

Donations
Work together with a team to coordinate incoming and outgoing ministry donations. Responsibilities include matching donated items with girls who need them, bringing donated items to club each month, organizing and sorting donations.

Commitment: Ongoing with flexible commitment for one school year (September – June).
